Growing up in a musical family, having studied and performed music in the Western European tradition, I take delight in shedding predictable patterns and stretching to create something less familiar. Improvisation lets me break the rules. Express myself. Discover my voice. Raw edges and loose threads are part of my style because imperfection is beautiful. And life is rarely tidy. Spending hours at the design wall quickly pulling and cutting fabrics, coming back to the design again and again, is the process that challenges, transforms, and draws me in.
Layers, textures and simplicity are my current focus.
